So let me get this straight.
The royal family apparently has distaste for BMW who own Rolls Royce, but
presumably not for Volkswagen who own Bentley.
I just wanted to be sure.

You might have thought that Longbridge would get support in their own
city ----- the Birmingham police drive Peugeots!

To befit his position, Charles, Prince of Wales also owned, at one time, a
Gilbern, which is the best known complete car ever made in Wales. Moreover,
I think the Gilbern had an MGA drive train.

You remember correctly, Mk 4 Zodiac engine/box and Giberns own design 4 point trailing arm rear set up with a Panhard Rod ...all fixed to an MGC axle...I had an Invader Estate for a few years and one of the more major jobs was replacement of the crown wheel and pinnion..as well as the oil pump drive/ fibre crank gear...etc etc...The 1800 GT was MGB running gear.

Hello Graham,
Personally I wouldn't turn my nose up at either a Bentley NOR an
Aston, whatever my position. (Persistently horizontal these days
I'm afraid!)
