So let me get this straight. The royal family apparently has distaste for BMW who own Rolls Royce, but presumably not for Volkswagen who own Bentley. I just wanted to be sure. Mike Francks [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

To befit his position, Charles, Prince of Wales also owned, at one time, a Gilbern, which is the best known complete car ever made in Wales. Moreover, I think the Gilbern had an MGA drive train. Peter Ross, TC 8892 Bolton, Massachusetts

Paul You remember correctly, Mk 4 Zodiac engine/box and Giberns own design 4 point trailing arm rear set up with a Panhard Rod ...all fixed to an MGC axle...I had an Invader Estate for a few years and one of the more major jobs was replacement of the crown wheel and pinnion..as well as the oil pump drive/ fibre crank gear...etc etc...The 1800 GT was MGB running gear. paul camp pauldcamp@btinternet.com> wrote: Peter I built a Gilbern Invader in the early 70s and if I remember the engine & gearbox and I presume the propshaft etc was all ford Zodiac/Granada V6 Paul TC3348

Hello Graham, Personally I wouldn't turn my nose up at either a Bentley NOR an Aston, whatever my position. (Persistently horizontal these days I'm afraid!)
