New cwp

Roger, Your new "Mad Metrics" 4.61:1cwp is now in operation in my black TC complete with tapered ball races etc. Eric Harwood who did the machining and set up (he also did the hub machining for your tapered 1/2 shafts) had nothing but praise for the quality of the gears and your fitting instructions. On initial testing, it seems fine and the car has a much more laid back feel than with the standard ratio. This weekend we leave for Port Elizabeth to take part in the Milligan Vintage Rally and we should total around 1300 miles on various of road types. This is a sealed clock event so I'm going to have to relearn all the vibrations at key speeds on the 480 mile trip to the start. Cheers Viv

Viv: I put Rogers 4.61 CWP in also. Much improved driving and minimal loss of power. Actually the loss of power is hardly noticeable. An extra shift on a steep hill occasionally. Very comfortable at 60/65 MPH cruising speed. I did not recalibrate the speedometer yet, but then my wife thinks I'm going slower than I really am. Maybe I'll leave it alone. This is a lot easier than finding him at Buddle Farm in Broadwoodwidger which I have also managed to do! Roger is our resident rear axle guru and sells good stuff which he has machined up by good people. Don't let his trading name of "Mad Metrics" put you off. Cheers Viv Dear Viv: I gather you were describing the installation of a 4.61 to 1 crown wheel and pinion gears for you T type differential, referred to as "ring and pinion gears" here in the Colonies. Apparently these gears were supplied by a Roger person who is making these available for sale. I would be interested in acquiring such items for my TA. Would you be so kind as to illuminate? Kindest regards, Alan Campbell Bell Canyon, California TA 1282
