Mike,
I run Mobil 1 car 10w-30 in my Suzuki Bandit 1200 which has over 100 hp
AND a wet clutch, and it not only works just fine - it shifts WAY smoother!

I never said Castrol Syntec is synthetic. I just pointed out that
Castorl GTX might be better than some synthetics and is cheap.
Well, I often see GTX and Mobil 1 on sale at auto parts stores.
But, I agree that Mobil 1 is probably the best and A FEW EXPERIENCED
KLRistas have also told me that it works GREAT even with a wet
clutch. Thanks for setting Torst straight; hard to deal with a
knowitall whose bike died on the trail from an electrical problem!
Just razzing you Torst; don't go ballistic!
THE IRREFUTABLE FACT IS THAT MOTORCYCLE SPECIFIC OIL IS A TOTAL RIP
OFF.
Keep the faith, fight the power and slap on a dog.

Yup. And zero reference to wet clutch load capacity changes as Ducati owners
have little need for that variable.
Oil treads - got to luv 'em!
Hey, is it time for another fuel thread

The main thing I like about M1 red (in addition to it working better, longer and cheaper) over moto-specific oils is that it's EASY TO FIND in the middle of nowhere at a gas station or convenience store, at 6 a.m. or 10 p.m. on a weekend. I've notice my KLR runs best with the golden brownish oil. I find
Mobil Delvac at $5 a gallon convenient since that is two oil changes
or $2.50 a change. The KLR also ran well with Mobil One Red at $19 a
gallon. I find A checking to make sure the engine has oil and B
changing the oil about every 2,000 seems to keeps the KLR engine
cranking out the ground pounding 30HP. Oh yeah changing the oil filter
for $2.50 is also a good thing as is keeping the air filter clean.
Jebus go ride or wrnech sumfin. Nuttin to see here. Oh yeah keep air
in the tires and gas in the tank.

Mobil 1 recently has changed the formulation of the red cap 15W50.
Does anyone have any experience or thoughts about the new formulation?

Ya, oil treads are one thing - but I'll top off with anything in the desert
It isn't that serious of an issue, after all....
