Here in Virginia, we are still morning the loss of 32 lives at Virginia Tech. For the safty of the students, VT strictly prohibits the possession of firearms by adult students and professors who possess concealed handgun permits. There were hundreds of people in that engineering building, but only the shooter was armed. We need more freedom to defend ourselves, not more "reasonable" gun cuntrol.

All studies show that allowing concealed carry of a weapon reduces crime
and violence - from someone who lives in Florida.

So which one of you would have shot your gun-toting and crazed
mother / father, son / daughter, husband / wife??? Most of the time,
this crap happens at home with a family member. You better off being
a clear-headed negotiator rather than an armed bad-a**.

Ok, with that logic, no kitchen knives, baseball bats, crowbars, ice picks, hammers, hatchets, water pipes, tree chippers, rope, plastic bags, rat poison, automobiles.
The problem is the human behind the weapon, not the inanimate object. Life is beautiful and risky. It is imperfect because the only perfect thing is God. For the unbeliever, life is the closest thing to heaven. For the believer, life is the closest thing to hell. You choose.

Don't forget gasoline.. lots of people in this neck of the woods perished in intentionally set gasoline fires.
From a previous post, I now know what a 1911a1 is... cool. I have an AMT 45ACP Hardballer... hard to conceal here in CA... My NAA minimag would be more appriopriate for that... but don't tell the leaders of the great nanny state of Kalifornia.

We cannot ever legislate, and enforce such legislation, that would
intend to remove all objects that can be used to hurt or kill. We
can feasibly accept the responsibility to learn how to properly use
any object but not all of us will choose to put out the
effort. Family and community can take the responsibility to teach
their children to take responsibility in their adult use of drugs,
weapons, vehicles, alcohol, power tools, and ... . We will never be
safe if we give away full responsibility of our lives to legislators,
courts, church officials, firemen, police officers, and our
military. Those services can be used constructively just as any
other assets available to us such as; drugs, weapons, vehicles,
alcohol, power tools, and ... . All assets are only as good as we
know how to use them and how much we choose to acknowledge our
responsibility to the results from using them.

Herm,
Although I say Amen, Brother! to your statement,
the problem is getting anyone today to accept
responsibility for anything. This is how people are
awarded millions of dollars for something as stupid as
spilling a hot cup of coffee on themselves.

Plasic bags, knives, hammers, screwdrivers have
another purpose or idea behind them. Guns have only
one aim: to kill. So if I carry a gun around I have
to be prepared to kill. If you are not ready for
that, don t. And guns make killing too easy, from
far away, you don t have to look into their eyes, and
hear their screams, same for suicide, cowardly easy
with a gun, as I have witnessed. It would be nice to
live in a world without evil. It is everyone s
personal decision, depending on circumstances and beliefs.

"Guns have only

You sound like a Legislator. Obviously you are entirely wrong. Guns can be
sporting. Guns can feed you. Guns can protect you without being fired,
etc.
Their biggest reason according to those that knew, They can make something
that wants ABSOLUTE POWER over you, to think twice.
