asked service manager about doohickey failure
Counselor,
Sounds like you're a risk taker. I am willing to sell you, for a very
reasonable finders fee, some of the finest products manufactured. Corvairs -
just about any year - if the swing axle rear suspension didn't get you the
gasoline fired cabin heater would (an option you had to pay extra for, but
yes, gasoline fired!!!); VW's (to '69 were the worst) - I still find it very
curious that Nader didn't go after that swing axle, neck brakin', mobile
incendiary device; Several makes, models domestic and foreign vehicles that
took the initiative to drop into either forward or reverse and/or accelerate
of their own accord if/when motor mounts broke; Jeep Cherokees with fuel
injected in-line 6 - at some point the fuel lines between the pump and port
invariably deteriorate and leak fuel and set the darn thing on fire; Late
model HumVee's - axle knuckle breaks - front wheels fall off ; Yugo - don't
need to say any more; Celebrex - kills the pain, but has some nasty coronary
side effects, etc., etc., etc....
It's an easy bet that ALL major manufacturers can tell you within less than
one std deviation from a gnats arse (mean), at a 95% or better confidence
level what warranty and related legal costs are going to be each year, and
where their financial and political breakeven point is for any given
product. They have legions of analysts, marketers, attorneys and paper
pushers on staff (really unfortunate that some of the legal costs aren't
spent on R&D). I applaud your - or your friends and family if you don't make
it - resolve and willingness to take on such a well funded group.
Given the litigious environment manufacturers operate in it's easy to see
how, why all the innovation in cars, motorcycles, etc., comes from local
manufacturers that design and develop "one-off" solutions to specific
problems. The stock car, offroad, rally, etc., sport industry - the
mechanics, machinists are the people that build and develop all the *really
new stuff* that eventually rolls off the assembly lines. It's the Korky
McMillans and the people they rely on that keep beating the factory race
teams (damn the luck!). Keep at it people!!!
Good luck on your next ride!

start to change it in order of what typ of roads I'm
riding on...Any sugestion?

meaning of [dsn_klr650] and stock setup questions
Hola!, I speak some spanish at work usually. The dsn is dual sport
news, the klr650 is the model of dual sport we ride. I like lower tire
pressure for gravel roads, I find about 18psi on the front ansd 22 on
the rear pretty good for mixxed tooling around.
