This kind of comment reminds me of John Stuart Mill: "Although not all
conservatives are stupid, it is certainly true that most stupid people are
conservative."
If J.S. - and possibly yourself - had spent more time in academia, you guys
might arrive at the opposite viewpoint.

The Sportster breathed a sigh of relief when I bought the 650. It was willing, though. Right after the initial 500 mile service, I took the Sportster camping out in eastern MT. The 25 miles of gravel road into the Highwoods isn't real bad, but on the way out I decided to take a FS road I'd never been on. It followed a creek and forded the damn thing five times. I had visions of explaining how I dropped a brand new Harley in the middle of a creek 30 miles from a paved road, but it just tractored across. I grew up before there was much in the way of specialized vehicles except for military jeeps, and you more or less expected what you had to go where you wanted to go. So far that's:
Harley vs. non-Harley
Union vs. non-Union
Conservative vs. Liberal
Good thing we can all have an opinion. Wait... I guess that puts me in
the conservative camp. So be it.

Indian Larry (rest his soul) rocks. I also like what Europeans do when
they modify their bikes. And the boys down in New Orleans at
Confederate Motorcycles - they are in a whole new world. But I have to
hand it to OCC, they sure know how to market themselves only being in
the business since the mid 90's.

Good morning.
Gee wiz, I made 4 out of the 5. This is more gratifying than pushing
the plunger on my hot , steamy French press.
