Yep. Ditto. I wear mine regularly and the peak behaves itself until
you get in the 85mph + range on an unfaired bike. Quieter than I
thought it would be too.

a12 soft above 5k rpm
Ok, here goes. I recently had to swap carb bodies due to some damage.
The new (used) body ran fine on another bike. Now that it is on my
bike, here's what's happening:
1. In a roll-on situation, power goes soft above 5K RPM
2. When taking off from a light at full throttle, sometimes full power
is available at all RPMs in all gears until I let off.
3. If I'm riding at full throttle in the low power situation trapped
at 75mph, after about 1/2 mile full power will sometimes return in a
surge, taking me to 95 or more in a normal fashion.
4. Revs buld very slowly above 5K. Some popping on decel, which never
happened before.
5. Carb is spotless (checked 3 times), floats move freely, mainjet and
all orfices are clear. Fuel lines are clear, vent lines are clear,
petcock is clean. Slide slides. All parts are in there.
6. New gas
7. Valves adjusted 50 miles ago, slappy 'n happy.
8. Clean air filter and spark plug
9. Pilot screw 2 turns out, thin washer on stock needle, stock jets,
everything else stock except for de-tweeteied muffler.
10. No rags in airbox or intakes.
11. Bike idles perfectly, runs cool, and runs great below 4,500-5K.
Could the float level have come out of adjustment while I was messing
with everything? This is the only thing left I can think of... any
ideas? I think the fact that every once in a while I get full power is
a big flag. Thanks.
