double secret fuel reserve revealed

Post by matteeanne@yahoo.com » Mon Jul 26, 2004 9:22 pm

My dealer, Cycle Barn Lynnwood Washington, almost the same thing. "Free tank of gas" included but at the local service station. So after paying cash for my bike, I hit the major thoroughfare, highway 99 at rush hour to putt the 300 yards to the service station, as the motor dies. Ok Noob move on my part, I shoulda reached down and hit reserve, but I had the bike about 3 minutes, and I hate to say I just did not think about anything but the 250,000 cars behind me. This was the start of a chain of what I considered major mistakes on the part of the dealer. It's the old "I'll never be back" syndrome. --- Howard Morris wrote:

Must be a dealer conspiracy. I was told mine was full, but ran out after 50kms on an 11% downgrade in the rain, with a milk tanker truck behind me. I didn't know why he was so P.O'd at me until I found my signal to the shoulder hadn't been seen as the signals weren't even wired up. Picked up the bike in a hurry at closing time and trusted them. Never again. Steve

Have you removed them drain hole bolts yet ? I took mine out when it was new and applied antiseize to them, but have never taken them out since. I "think" tweety comes after enough fiberglass has blown out the pipe and changes the flow enough to make it whistle in the preforated tube. After I did the screwdriver/hammer act on my pipe a few good rev's and fiberglass was flying out the tailpipe, narly never heard tweety before or after, but honestly think the bike has a bit more tone and maybe just a tad louder, but nothing like a aftermarket can with its ear drum breaking noise. Dooden A15 Green Ape Oh good chance you will snap off the heads of them compressed oatmeat bolts if they have been overtorqued by the factory. (WHAT ? the factory over tighten something ?)
