Nitpicking 101: The KLR600 was in production from 1984 through 1986. In 1987, the KLR650 was introduced. Although the bikes are very similar, I'm not sure if the forks are an easy swap between them. Sorry, no real help there. Do check the VIN and mfr plate on the bike to get a proper ID on the make and year. Good luck, MarkB

did you check www.buykawasaki.com to see if the part #'s were the same

vehicle first registered 88 klr600 - B4 but i will look at www.buykawasaki.com good idea thanks sam
