While you are at it, why don't you hit yourself on the foot to numb yourself
while you perform your own appendectomy, and then get out your Black &
Decker and fill your own cavities.
Maybe it is because I is one, but having a lawyer will greatly help you
understand your rights and your responsibilities towards your own situation.
They can help you best determine what is an appropriate settlement value for
your bike as well as for your personal injury and they can help you weed
through the red tape should the other insurance company choose to make it
difficult.
Yes, there are cases where someone gets a fine insurance adjuster on the
other end and comes out okay. We all know of them and citing them doesn't
contradict the fact that insurance adjusters have ONE goal: to pay as
little as possible for any given claim.
Steve, to answer your specific question about a "reasonable" settlement.
Refer to your lawyer or actually spend the time to know what the courts in
YOUR area are awarding as damages. What someone "normally" gets across the
state or across the country really won't help you in your case.
If you want to talk about it email me direct.
