A starving man with a broken leg and poor eye sight can take a deer with a 12 gauge shot gun and would have a pretty good chance of defending himself also. You may compromise on your motorcycle but you should always use enough gun. Harry Thames South Carolina> A good marksman can take a deer if necessary with a 22 > lr.

It always amazes me the logic that gun marketers use to sell big caliper guns. I have many guns of various size and description, but I put thousands of rounds each year through the 22's. They're the ones I'd rely on in a pinch. I can drive nails with them, and I can easily carry several hundred rounds. -- bierdo> A good marksman can take a deer if necessary with a 22 > lr. >

I carry a .45 to "shoot to stop" not "shoot to kill" the
two-legged varmints, but there isn't a whole lot anyone says
about the blender effect of a .22LR. Once it penetrates, it
ricoches (sp?) off of bone matter and can be quite effective
at making multiple internal wounds.
