At bike week 00', I rode the GS1150 on the race track. It blew my mind with how well it did around the curves. I really wanted one after that, but ooooh, that price is just too high, and it's just ooooh so big. Rode the F650 around the track and had so much fun swinging the tail around the curves, I just thought I had to have one. Couldn't wait for the new model to come out. Just about plopped my money down at the dealer waiting for one, but decided to wait a bit. A buddy bought a DR650. Rode it around. Wow, this is a fun bike too. Wow, $3000.00 cheaper. Saw a new 01' KLR650. Neat silver color. Cheaper than the DR650. Decided to buy it. Hoped I'd like it. Drove it 325 miles the first day. Stopped once, just to get gas. Loved every minute of it. Did the F650 you rode have EFI......or was the tank under the seat? The Dakar has those.....with longer legs, 21"frt. rim, square stock frame, 423 wet lbs., twin exhaust(more and quieter flow)......its grooooovey baby! .....it shreds! looking at my lotto tickets.... Slide
