sun phoenix ride report

Post by crazydave_2@excite.com » Mon Aug 05, 2002 7:57 am

Started at 7:00AM, everyone was actually there. We had 2 KLR650s, 1 xl650 , 1 xt250. I was the only one riding 2 up. Followed Cave Creek road all the way out. XL rider want to find his range (100 miles with a 1 liter bar bottle) The weather was perfect, we hit several light showers, almost had a Mule Deer for lunch. The road was in very good condition with the exception of the last 8 miles to the bridge. It was VERY rocky and loose. Stats: Odometer 132 miles moving av 28 mph overall 21 mph max speed 60 mph total time 6:09 stop time 1:26 Great time had by all, xt rider crashed and needs some plastic, xl rider needed a gallon of gas from me. We are all sore, my wife says she will never ride that far on dirt again. I just hurt. We are planning another ride to Crown King from Lake Pleasent. crazydave BTW about 90 miles of the total was dirt roads. ------------------------------------------------ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web! Utah Sportcycle makes skid plates for just about everybody. The skid plates made by Utah Sportcycle for the KLR does not have a flat bottom. It is bent a couple of places to give the drain plug more clearance. It should still work with your lifts but won't provide the wide steady base you are looking for.
