Fixation case study http://www.msgroup.org/CASESTUDY.html -----Original Message----- From: Gary Weaver [mailto:bmwmcgw@...] Sent: Thursday, April 20, 2000 12:23 PM To: DSN_klr650@egroups.com Subject: [DSN_klr650] Tinky/Winky/Blinky:Headlight Modulators Listers, While on this thread, I'll comment on target fixation. Proven fact that motorists run into police cruisers MORE often with the emergency lights turned on than OFF. Some states even require the police to turn the lights off when a motorist pulls over,or reduce the lights to a less obtrusive fixation level. Rubberneck syndrome lol Target fixation fits in the same groove as optical illusions,it's there and is real. One good plug for wink blinks, you may be able to clear traffic if motorists think you are a police motorcycle. A BMW rider friend has one installed, he turns it on when encountering a slow left lane road hog. Of course you have to ride a RT that looks like a real police bike. KLR's are used as police bikes south of the border I hear. Just say no to light wagging, Gary Keystone Zen Riders Pa./KLR/posse
