Although it's true that the KLR power cannot be "wildly" increased, and Eric means well I'm sure, the above statement is not correct. I am one of the guys that has done extensive work to the KLR and have found little ways to make more power, or torque. Yes, they are small things, and you must really search for them, but if you do a whole bunch of little things, it adds up to a very "noticable" difference. I see and hear many many owners doing lots of things to the bike that make it slower like not breaking in the motor correctly, adding weight, saddle bags and panniers, screwing up the jetting, putting a 16 tooth countershaft sprocket on, just to name a few. Some folks want that, or don't mind that, and that is fine. But if you want your KLR to be the strongest in can be, and to go the fastest that it can, the first thing to do is to NOT do things to slow it down, and/or reverse the things that have been done. Just remember we are talking KLR power here. When you have one that is not laden with extra weight, and EVERYTHING has been tweeked just right, you will have a lot faster bike than you would think. Every time I switch KLR's with someone, they notice how much quicker my bike feels and picks up speed, while I notice that there's is feeling a little, to a lot slower. It's all in the details my friend, alllllllll in the details. MrMoose A8 (Barbie and Ken special)

Hi, This is the only engine mod I've seen. When I contacted them they said it was suitable for a KLR but I've not progressed any further. http://www.tts-performance.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=45_47_284&products_id=551&PHPSESSID=83fb422e5f0f1d3082a1d8799777f54f Andy

Sorry you bought the wrong bike, as to make it a monster... forget it the old single just aint up to the task without spending alot of cash per the folks that have tried. Sure you can change sprockets to get more power without effecting the motor, but at the cost of speed/buzzy highway ride. Best advise.. ride the bike, also if you have yet to change the oil/filter do so now. What I like to do is buy oil by the gallon at Wallyworld (Supertech or Delvac 1300 - 15w40) when changing I always have plenty left over, just in case she sips some during operation, which it will do at higher RPM's this way I have oil on the shelve, also at change time I like to drain the oil, and pour fresh clean oil in and let it run out to flush the case bottom. Do not go into shock the first oil change, no doubt you will see lots of metal shavings in the oil and embedded in the filter. Add to the bike what you need/want not what others have done, funny seems there are alot of these bike listed for sale with a long list of "upgrades" including metal bash plates, metal handguards, off-road footpegs, billet brake lever mounts on and on the make me wish I could afford all that farkle....................then within the for sale post..... (ready for this ? )........................... "Never down, never off-raod, showroom condition"

That's $65 for both ? Also, Kurt mentioned " some revalving ". Mike, can you shed some light on that ? Bogdan
