B9's at Chiller

Post by warpig2011 » Sat Oct 24, 2015 4:03 pm

Charlie,
It was great meeting you! Next time, I'll plan on hanging around post-show so I can hang out.

I don't know what I was thinking; somehow I had this fantasy that the entire show would be like a "gathering of friends", the reality was kind of a combination of  "storm the castle and kill the monster" and "herd all the Walkers into the canyon" :-O

Despite the claustrophobic conditions, it was a lot of fun meeting stars we've idolized for years! I spent *way* too much money, but it was worth it!

Let me 2nd that I had a great time meeting everyone today.

This was the first time I've ever met anyone else from the club f2f (well, in a "LIS" context anyway. I met Mike J at the NYC Maker Faire but the B9 that was with him was a 3d printer and not a robot)

After looking over the robots, that old "A B9 is never truly finished" phrase came to mind. Craig's radar posts are completely silent, and he made a great argument for the silicone leg bellows. I can see going back and attending to some other details on Blinky in the near future.

Anyway, I've never been very vocal on the group, but I read the digest every day with enjoyment. It was really nice to be able to put faces to some of your names.

Is it OK if we call you "Bruce" then?
(Someone has to get that!)

I also echo that it was great...I mean REALLY great meeting Craig, Victor, Charlie, Phil, Tom, Dennis, and John from the club! It was a blast also being in the room with the cast from LIS! The group photo op was FANTASTIC! I also brought one of my tread section side panels and got signatures from Angella, Billy, Marta, and Mark to sign it! It will really accent my b9 robot to the MAX! Absolutely had a FANTASTIC time!

Hello Mike,

Can I get a copy of your Raspberry Pi software for the robot?

I want to ask before I forget.

Thanks,

Dennis
