Anyone having any issues with the blu-ray set?

Post by deroseje » Wed Sep 30, 2015 9:25 pm

Though I need to confirm, my boy tells me that a couple of episodes froze in his xbox one. Yes I've corrupted my kid into liking his ol dad's shows....
Also, the other night I pulled the last disc of season one out of its slip and immediately noticed that it felt twice as thick as any other blu-ray or DVD I'd ever seen. I popped it into the sony player and it didn't recognize it. I pulled it out and ran my fingernail over the edge, continually trying to find a groove. I finally found one and was able to separate a clear piece of acrylic from the disc! The clear one was exactly the size and shape of a Blu-ray Disc. Weird.....  Anyway it then worked perfectly.

My Blu-ray player needed a software update to play them. It's a Sony set top box, not an xbox or a computer connected thing. Otherwise so far so good.

The only "issue" that I had was with the cardboard packaging folder that holds the discs. It is impossible to remove a disk from the folder without getting fingerprints on it, and over time the pretty graphics would eventually be reduced to tatters with the disc being removed and replaced. I worked around this by buying some clear flexible plastic CD sleeves, with flaps. I tuck the flaps into the slots where the discs formerly stayed, and it does not noticeably affect the thickness of the set. That is, the folder still sips into the slip case with all discs thus stored.
