Cadintosh vs Autocad
I am just getting my feet wet w/ Cadintosh, and am wondering how it compares to what I understand to be The Big Daddy of CAD software, Autocad. Will Cadintosh do as much? I would be surprised if it did, as Autocad costs a few grand. Thanks.

Hello,
CADintosh is a 2D construction application.
You can do all 2D contructions with symbols and other elements.

Bernd,
If I remember correctly Autocad files are DXF.
According to http://www.lemkesoft.com/content/170/key-features.html
"Import and export of DXF, HPGL, IGES and PICT (version 6) or PDF (version 7)"

Bernd - no, not AutoCAD native file format, that is, with a .DWG filename extension. It will read and save as certain flavours of .DXF which is the generic interchange format. If you can persuade your AutoCAD person to save as DXF rather than DWG then there is a possibility that CADintosh will be able to open it.> Can CADintosh read Autocad files.
