Greetings,
I am in the process of replacing the water pump and thermostat on TC/7915.
I was doing some research as to what color is what and have a question for
the list. The color guide that I was looking at says that the t-stat and
elbow should be black. I have seen pictures of both black and red. I also
noticed in Sherrell's book that the aluminum water outlet manifold was left
unpainted. Your comments would be appreciated. Thanks!
Regards,

Re: [mg-tabc] Thermostat color
Don't want to get in to a colour war on the TC but... who cares and
what's more who knows? As I have said so many times before these were
cheap mass production cars not a hand built R.R. or evan a hand built
Morgan! Some were painted and some were not, it all depends on the day
of the week that they left the factory!
Regards Geoff

Re: [mg-tabc] Thermostat color
John, My TC was built September 24th 1945 and I still don't know if the
Therm was the same colour as the engine!
For what its worth I painted it the same colour, I.e Battleship gray
and no one has challenged me on this choice.
So go for it, who knows what was right just a few days after the
factory opened for car production at the end of five years of war!
