MGs FOR SALE

Post by mrbadger » Wed Apr 05, 2000 1:59 pm

Just in case anyone may be interested, I am currently offering two
unusual MGs for sale on eBay, the auction site. One is a nice blue MG
TF 1500, the other is a very wonderful 1930 18/80 Mark II roadster. My
eBay identity is "mrbadger". If you have an interest but cannot locate
my auctions, let me know and I'll help you out.
My other eBay identity (actually, my alter ego) is "butch.cassidy", but
you don't really need to know that.
Thanks, Badger

MGs For Sale

I noticed in the latest of MG Enthusiasts that RM Auctions is selling the
Ponder Collection the weekend of April 20-21st. In this collection is a
number of MG being offered including a 33 K3, 33 L Magna, several Tickfords,
a C type, a 35 Airline coupe and others. You can see the offerings at
http://www.rmauctions.com/index.cfm.

Now if I just had a few more dollars..

I noticed that there is a 1950 MG TC exu for sale in the auction. I
thought the last TC was built in 1949 and the TD's started in 1950?

Dear Richard:
Just a WAG, but in them thar days of Yor the Britcars were
given the year age date it wound up in the USA from Ol' Blighty and/or was
sold. Perhaps other Lads and Lassies might remember more correctly.
Just another guess but it most likely is closest to the" final
numbers of production",

Hi,
My Father had a TC that was registered as a '51 model.
I'm not boasting, just the facts. There were a few
TD's born in 1949 I think. Year of the car just
depended on how long it took to shift them from the
sales floor.

I own a 1958 twin cam sold new in 1961, but titled as a 1959! Most often
the title date on older MGs is based on when the car arrived at the
dealers and not the year it was made.

Blake,
Any chance you might want to sell "that old MGA Twin Cam"?

From 1964 thru 1967, I sold new MGBs here in San Diego. When the model year changed the importer asked for all the unsold ID numbers, then issued "prefix" tags to be affixed to the number plate showing the car was a year newer. We had a grey w/red roadster that was originally a '63 and we finally sold as a '65. BMC just sent the new tag (twice) even though the car had been on our lot for nearly 2 years. It is just part the lore of our little cars.
The Alfa Romeo distributor "lost" a Sprint Speciale in their warehouse for over 5 years. When they found it, they put it on the Pasadena showroom at a premium price for the low mileage.
