Your car number (7387) is 677 later than mine (6710), your body number
(7159) is 675 later than mine (6484), but your engine number (7432) is
only 2 later than mine (7430). Interesting.

Thank you for the infor, it is on the top of the main wood sill
rail, under where the door opening, there is a very good picture
of it in Mike's book.

On another tack you are all aware that later TCs had a shallower
cutout on the front wings.A recent trip along the muddy roads of France
suggested a possible reason for this other than just to improve the
looks.My TB was covered in mud along the bonnet sides whereas the late
TC with me stayed clean.What do you think?

Like Mr Roodhouse I`m not much interested in all this static stuff, unless the no is 38-24-38! As our Danish friend said, it is almost TB weather over this side of the pond- much more interesting. Both my cars have Roger Furneaux`s 52 mm oil seal nuts on the rear axles, and for the first time in nigh on 40 years the rear brakes work. As for broken ally tranny plates, both mine have been like this for years. I fitted a steel bracing bar to the outside in -situ, from a bolt near the top of the box, to a bottom mounting bolt. Works a treat! I think Roger`s nuts are now 50 mm. Sorry to hear they are shrinking-Roger! Goodbye now. Paddy. Derbyshire.

Other widely-believed theories are (1) the late-type wings were easier to
manufacture, and (2) they were stiffer and less prone to damage. Your
theory is just as believable. Who knows?

TC6710 had one of each when I got it. It now haws early-style on both
sides, which may (or may not) be incorrect according to the car number but
I like them better.

Paddy is quite right we should be driving, but its been 'b' cold the last few
days!

Actually Paddy I've done 350 miles in the last two weeks, including making
the round trip to the T Restoration day a 240 mile one. Its easy to get lost
in a TB in the dark with the hood up. In fact its a miracle I ever found my
way home!

So I hope you will forgive a little bit of static fun of an evening while
waiting for the rain to stop and my woolly hat to dry!

Seriously this strand must dry up soon. So if anyone has not given me their
body numbers (NOT 38-24-38) please send them to me direct, rather than via
the list. I promise to publish my final table to everyone, and bore you with
my 'conclusions' in due course.

If anyone esle is doing their own 'investigations' let me know and I will
keep them up to date with my latest spreadsheet.

To all members I want to thank everyone that has sent their body numbers, I think I have a much clearer picture and will let everone know when we receive the numbers from Roger that he has. If other member have not replied we could use yours also. The time you have taken is very much appreciated. I am only working on the TC end at this time. On my TA, which has no plate, and TA 892, the numbers pressed in the scuttle wood member is 4989, which must be the last part of the body number as it follow with the other numbers sent in.
