Dear Sir Charles;
Any one named Charles has to be Knighted with Sir.
I decided someone might like to know a wee bit about the first Gof meet. I
hoped it would not be too boring. Still looking for that Boston Fem-Fatale.
What the hay!

Murray asks:
>Fitting a Toyota 5 Speed Gearbox. The OP among you will no doubt be
gasping for breath but the simple fact is that even though I am running an
MGA rear end with tall gearing I could use an overdrive. Also my gearbox is
due for an overhaul and the maths are simple, I can get a complete kit
including a fully overhauled Toyota 5 speed box for less money than its
going to cost me to send out my TC box for overhaul. Have any of you had
experience with a five speed in a TC?<

Murray,

Give me a week. I've just purchased the new Moss 5-speed kit for my TC and
plan to have it in this weekend. I'll let you know then how it feels.

rockers (could
this be?). I had replaced the press steel cover with the aluminum coffin

Has anyone come across a problem with the internal wall of the cover making
contact with the rocker assembly?<

Bruce,

Throwing this out so others may comment.

I know that when you rebuilt your engine you used the silicon bronze valve
guides. These guides have to be reamed a bit larger (.002 I think) than
normal valve guides or when they heat up they'll swell(?) and cause the
valves to stick. If there was an accompanying loss of power when the noise
started this could be the reason. I don't know what the noise sounds like
when a valve sticks but maybe some of the others can let you know if it
sounded like what you described.

Good luck,

Recently someone asked about MG TA TB VA Tourer tool trays (I think it was Mick Conde), anyway, Jim Alcorn has put a set on ebay Item number: 150031672751. I give you the item number because I can never make the links work when Jim Shade sends them.

The link is:

Jim is a friend of mine, but I have no vested or other interest in this venture.

BlankHi troupes,
Had a disaster, uncovered the car today for a ride on a beautiful day and found one of my CAT'S EYE lens had cracked. I have had
these since I bought the car and only put them back on the car last month after having the reflectors resilvered. Has anyone got a
spare?

BlankHi Troupes,
I very rarely drive the TC at night, but last night was our British Car Clubs annual trip to northern Michigan's only drive in
movie and I came home in pitch blackness. After I put the original resilvered reflectors and the cats eye lenses back on the car I
put AC 1176 dual filament bulbs in the holders. They don't seem to be very bright? and I was wondering if anyone has a brighter bulb
without using Halogen bulbs (as they draw too much current). There seems to be plenty of light in the beams but don't illuminate the
road very well.
My question is what are the best dual filament bulbs to use and where can I get them?

BlankHi all,
Just to confuse the issue, on page 81 of Graham Robson's book "T-Series The complete Story" there are 6 TC's being delivered to
a police force and both the fog lamb and the horn are located on the passenger side of the car. Go figure

Thanks Larry. I look forward to getting mine. I find the original very interesting and look forward to being able to use the search function as originally intended.
