Re: T-ABC Badge
I have the original art work (color separation plates) that I did when I designed the T-ABC badge. Don't know if Jim has any left, or if Jim is willing to go through the hassle of getting more made up. The supplier did an excellent job at a reasonable price in Taiwan, and perhaps 1) if enough members are still interested in a badge, 2) if someone is willing to help Jim in the ordering and mailing of the badges after receipt (which was really an quite an undertaking that I could not continue), I could furnish the artwork to the same or another qualified supplier.
There has been occasional interest in making up beer mugs and other paraphernalia from the badge design, including a wall clock. The design is the exclusive property of the group, and Walter, Jim and I have agreed that we really don't want to allow the use of the club logo for a truck stop souvenirs. In the past, I've had polo shirts made for the group with some success, despite the size and order-filling difficulties of a limited silk-screen run, but I'm unable to run that rodeo again either.
Given the large increase in list membership, I'd suggest that if someone is interested in tabulating the interest in another badge run and/or shirt project, that he/she make himself/herself known. I'll still be able to make minor inputs on production quality, and holler if it's not right. Problem is, and has always been, staying with the original artwork to avoid the degeneration that comes from making copies from copies, etc., and maintaining the integrity of the design for the badge and a very limited number of justifiable applications. Sort of the OP for the logo.
Comments welcome, on or off line.

Re: T-ABC Badge
Austin,
I am familiar with badge production and have a few badge manufacturers I have used worldwide plus in the USA for our local club. As always, quality and price are the main concerns along with reliability of the production.
You have already done the hard part in the design of the badge and have the digital images. My preference would be to use the original manufacturer as they would have the art in their files and could supply the exact same badge.
I will throw my hat in the ring if Jim is unable to coordinate the badges and have them manufactured.
In my business, I am familiar and comfortable with worldwide shipping/mailing and the various forms for duty and customs necessary. Our group is well beyond the borders of the USA and the forms, while easy to figure out need to be done correctly.

Austin I have a fellow here in NYC who does promotional stuff including my
own coffee mugs and I am currently having lapel pins made, I do not know
how large an item they can make but the stuff I am getting is very nice. I
will ask him what they can do. Personally I would have gone with a
cream/crackers backround.

designed the T-ABC badge. Don't know if Jim has any left, or if Jim is
willing to go through the hassle of getting more made up. The supplier did
an excellent job at a reasonable price in Taiwan, and perhaps 1) if enough
members are still interested in a badge, 2) if someone is willing to help
Jim in the ordering and mailing of the badges after receipt (which was
really an quite an undertaking that I could not continue), I could furnish
the artwork to the same or another qualified supplier.
There has been occasional interest in making up beer mugs and other
paraphernalia from the badge design, including a wall clock. The design is
the exclusive property of the group, and Walter, Jim and I have agreed that
we really don't want to allow the use of the club logo for a truck stop
souvenirs. In the past, I've had polo shirts made for the group with some
success, despite the size and order-filling difficulties of a limited
silk-screen run, but I'm unable to run that rodeo again either.
Given the large increase in list membership, I'd suggest that if someone is
interested in tabulating the interest in another badge run and/or shirt
project, that he/she make himself/herself known. I'll still be able to make
minor inputs on production quality, and holler if it's not right. Problem
is, and has always been, staying with the original artwork to avoid the
degeneration that comes from making copies from copies, etc., and
maintaining the integrity of the design for the badge and a very limited
number of justifiable applications. Sort of the OP for the logo.
Comments welcome, on or off line.
Best to all,
Austin

T-ABC badge
In light of the recent email from Austin, I have decided that the badge
issue is too confusing for me to pursue the manufacture of more T-ABC badges.
----------------Just to inform you of the situation
Several weeks ago, when I asked Austin for the original art work in order
to reproduce the T-ABC car badge, he responded that he had "improved" the
design.
I then advised Austin that I did not think we should change the design from
the original, as all members should have the exact same T-ABC car badge.
Austin then refused to send me the original art work.
I then took my original badge to the original vendor and asked him to
reproduce it - and ordered 50 badges.
As you all know by now, the vendor botched the job and I decided to seek
another vendor if there were 100 members that were interested in purchasing a
badge.
I have no idea why Austin does not want to have the original badge
duplicated.
I have no problem with members ordering badges from Austin - just
understand that they will not be the original design.

PS Since profit from the sale of badges funds the website, it may now be
necessary to request donations, HOWEVER, please do not send donations at
this time. Maybe Austin will contribute profit from the sales of his badges
to the group?
