Cycle fenders

Post by BobAlley747@aol.com » Fri Nov 26, 2004 8:24 pm

I'm installing cycle fenders on my TC and am looking for a supplier for the
rubber gromet that fits between the stay bar and the fender. I have seen them
on older cars( PA's and MMM's) They are round and stepped. I have emailed Moss
Europe but have not gotten a response. Does anyone know of another supplier
that might carry such an item?
Thanks Bob

On this side of the pond you may want to try Abingdon Spares as they carry a
small amount of pre-war supplies. You could also try Tom Metcalf at Safety
Fast Restoration in Ohio, 419-525-0799, who does MMM restorations.

Your best bets however are the two largest suppliers of MMM parts in the
U.K., Sports & Vintage, tel. 01939 210458 fax 01939 210644 or Barry Walker tel.
01789 400181 fax 01789 400230.

You will probably also require the large, round headed, chrome mounting
bolts that are used in conjunction with the rubber washers you described,
available from the same sources.

I wasn't expecting so many responses on the cycle fenders.so I need to know
who is serious and who is window shopping. I'm about to order the aluminum and
need to get an accurate count. There will be a deposit required for each
set.
Thanks
Bob

Cycle fenders

Post by Jim Buell » Mon Dec 15, 2008 4:23 pm

During the planning stages of the racing version of TC9806 I acquired a
complete set of aluminum racing fenders (both front and rear) along with
aerofoil wing stays (front and lower front), chrome fixing bolts and rubber
washers. Since then I have taken the fenders on the car in a different
direction so these fenders and pieces are excess to my needs. Before I put
them on e-bay I thought I would offer them to the group.

If you are interested, please contact me off-list

I didn't realize the demand for cycle fenders. I had over a dozen enquires the first day. Bad news they sold almost immediately good news there is a second pair. Bad news is the second pair have a couple holes where the previous owner test fitted some brackets. Good news is they come with bottom panels(below the bonnet) and a couple brackets. $250 for the lot pictures on request. Act fast as they will probably be gone today.

TCers,

Anybody interested in two cycle fenders for a project let me know. They were mounted on the rear of the car I just finished up. Comes with two brackets to hold them in place. Call or write with questions, as I have never mounted cycle fenders to a TC.

Thanks,
