Re: Update from Jim
I meant to add a welcome to Alan and Bob in my last post This a great group...never a dull moment!
Lots of clever and knowledgable people on here, and naturally with over a thousand voices it gets a bit of a wobble on sometimes.. a bit like a T type really.. and that comes back on track eventually.
Can you imagine the whole 1008 down the pub!.. what a gig that would be.. and I reckon the first round should be your honour Jim .... :>)

Welcome to our 1011th member
Oates, Neville ---- rosewick@bigpond.com ---- Krambach, NSW Australia
1946 TC 0789 XPAG 1504
who writes -
TC 0798 arrived in Australia on 26th August, 1946 on board "SS.
AUSTRALIN". The car was first purchased by Stevens Bros., of
Pacific Highway, Lindfield, Sydney on the 30th August, 1946. It is not
known how long the car was owned by them or even if it
passed to other hands, but some time in 1946, a person by the name of Bill
Odd from Wauchope on the NSW mid-north coast
purchased the car and owned it for about 37 years until, a John
Firth-Smith of Chippendale, Sydney acquired the car in July, 2002.
He located it in a warehouse he owned to in Sydney together with several
other TC's of various ages and condition.
I know some restoration was commenced on the car but was not completed.
When I purchased the car as was, February, 2005
I trailerred the incomplete car to my home in Krambach near Taree on the
NSW mid-north coast. There must be something about
the NSW mid-north coast.
The first job was to ascertain exactly what I had, and to check that all
parts were present. I discovered that most things were there
but things like a Lucas FT 27 fog lamp and the "U" shaped headlight lenses
were not there and are as rare as hen's teeth to find.
I decided at this stage to assemble everything and do a rolling
restoration and once I knew the car was complete then I would look
at a full restoration. But first let's have some fun and get to know the
car.
At this time the car is a very dark BRG with beige trim and although not
politically correct I rather like it as it is a bit different to black
and has a distinctive look, perhaps a little softer.
I also have acquired an MG Y-type saloon 1949 as an alternative for long
runs and inclement weather.

I have some of the original paperwork and film clips of this MG at

If the car still exists, perhaps the current owner would like to know
