Hello Murray,
I've seen pictures of Tweed's car and it does indeed look "bloody
brilliant"! I'm sure that he's far to modest to post the photos
to substantiate this, though!

Re: Update from Jim
Michael,
Welcome, I just noticed the number of your TC. Mine is also a '49, with
number 7678, and engine XPAG 8455.
Sadly, it was abandoned when found / purchased, and its been apart for some
35 yrs. Hopefully, I'll be able to start on its re-build this coming year.

I would like to subscribe to your T-ABC List. The data that you asked for is
below. I have also attached a picture of my car. The car when I purchased it
had the racing screens incorrectly installed on the dashboard as opposed to
the top of the cowl. One of my winter projects is to replace the
dashboard, take a hard look at the wiring and install the racing screens I have also
attached a picture of my car with the dash removed and all of the loose wire
ends tagged.
I need some good information in regard to the correct location and
installation of the racings screens. I have come up with a means in which I think I
can correctly install the racing screens. I determined that when my
windshield is in its upright and locked position that it is at an angle of 8.5
degrees. Based on the pictures that I have seen of installed racing screens, it
appears as though it s locked and upright position is also at an angle of 8.5
degrees or parallel to the windshield. Therefore when the windshield and racing
screens are in their upright and locked positions, they are parallel to
each other. For the purpose of my example, I have assumed that the racing
screen is 1.5 from the windshield. So, if I were to place a 1.5 block of
Styrofoam or wood between the windshield and the racing screen, then I could
accurately place the racing screen in its appropriate position assuming that I
take care to make sure it is level and centered.
So, if you can tell me how far the racing screen is from the windshield in
inches when they are parallel to each other, I will have the information
that I need to know. Please excuse the quality of the drawing, but when I
copy and paste from AutoCAD to my e-mail format, the quality deteriorates on an
order of magnitude.
Thanks,
