Some time ago I requested advice from the group regarding an engine
overhaul for my TC 9298. I received many good sugestions, both to my
email and posted here, and as a consequence the overhaul has been very
successful. Work done included:
Rebore - cylinders were scored
Conversion to unleaded and larger valves fitted - airflow improved
Head shaved a little - approx 8.5 compression
Crankshaft welded to accept modified rear oil seal - no more leaks
One and one quarter carbs retained but blueprinted.
More aggressive camshaft fitted
Morris 1000, 4.5 diff fitted
Engine is not run in yet, but performance is great with 60 mph coming
up at 3,000 rpm. Plenty of torque above 2,500. I can see myself
getting even more speeding tickets!
Thanks to all who replied to my questions - greatly appreciated!
Oh! and before I go, to our Danish friend, Jorgen. Uninformed, and
unasked for, comments such as you made will not gain you respect,
rather they demonstrate how far removed from reality you guys in
Denmark really are. Why, you even had to import your princess from
Australia!
Thanks again to the group
