Hurricane Katrina

Post by Terry Sanders » Sun Aug 28, 2005 1:50 pm

Here is hoping our Listers on the Gulf Coast make it through this big one ok. I hope our friend Thom Collins survived the first land fall of Katrina. Having grown up in Louisiana, I know how dangerous these big storms can be....I hope the Mardi Gras T Register boys have gotten their cars to higher ground......Good Luck Gene Gillam

Terry and all,

Appreciate your thoughts. This one is going to be nasty - I'm about 20
miles off the coast and we're still expecting 120 mph winds to hit us.
We're all boarded up and just going to wait it out. Generator, portable
a/c unit and lots of gas out in the garages should get us through okay
IF we have a roof after tomorrow - grin.

Terry-
Unfortunately there is no "higher ground" here. We're battened down, I've
sent the wife and children up north, it's just the dog and I.
Thanks for the good wishes.

Know the feeling after going thru 4 Horridcanes, especially
Charley. My Prayers are with you. Looks like you are stuck there. Glad you

Dear Terry:
Everything went A OK in our area, with Katrina. Now I am
looking at the monster out of hell in the Gulf.
I think Jim "Sebring" Doughtery is the most endangered in New Orleans. Gene
and Annie Laurie should be moderately all right -120 MPH is not too bad,
since he is buttoned up. But who knows. I am still doing repairs of a minor
nature from last years 4 hurricanes.
Lets take a few minutes to ask for God's help in this indescribable
situation and potential disaster of horrific proportions. It is beyond human
comprehension.
