The lead is coming from the Club's Directors (some of whom come up for
re-election in October). As you say, the membership has been kept
completely in the dark over this issue, but details are going to be
published in the September "Safety Fast!" and there will be a vote at
the October Council meeting (which I will be attending, along with other
Registers, Centres and Branches).
Pulling out of the MG Car Club is not an option we want to contemplate -
rather we should fight from within to secure the changes that are
necessary.

Hi John, yes I read TTT faithfully and that is about the only place one
can find out what is going on with "Kimber Palace". Its a shame to
sully Kimber's name with the power grab that is taking place. I would
like to know what Register(s) these folk belong to that are leading this
effort. Is this the new crowd of MG F's and TF's owners who have no
knowledge of MG History? Clearly the idots running MG Rover had no
knowledge to name a new model "TF".
Perhaps its time that some of the Registers pull out of the main club
and form up a new one a la Octagon CC.
Keep us informed as to the goings on.

through the 'T' Register. Hopefully, you view "Totally T-Type", which is
an MG Car Club 'T' Register publication in a far more favourable light.

modest subscription we levy for the 'hard' copy just about (with a small
amount of advertising revenue) pays for the printing and distribution

Your comments about the proposed new MGCC Club Office strike a chord,
both with me and with many 'T-Typers' who are members of the MG Car
Club. We refer to the project as 'Kimber Palace' and I can assure you
that there is a lively debate about this - you have probably read about
it in TTT.
You may know that the MG Car Club has refused to print any letters which
are critical of the scheme in "Safety Fast!" and there has been a
virtual information blackout for well over a year. To overcome this,
Victor Smith of the V8 Register has set up an independent website
www.newcluboffice.net and I recommend TABC listers to take a look at it,
and, if you feel strongly, to post something on the Bulletin Board.

I have tried to talk some sense to Harry but he won't listen....folks on
the board have to do it. I think the Bulletin is worth the dues but
don't know how long I can keep up all these club memberships now that
I'm retired........The MGCC's "Safety Fast" is a complete waste except
for the various Registers news......we need Paddy Wilmer back. What's
happening with the Club's "new office flat" is a total scandal and
should be stopped. Reminds me of when a certain member lead the MGCC
off on an invasion of the US....that got nipped in the bud real fast.
