Craig,
Ref. your request for TA specifications..........
Engine tie strap - see attached photo (and apologies to Group who will not
see attachments). This item has been made up by a fellow TA restorer to a
drawing I obtained from Brian Rainbow (thanks again, Brian), one of our TA
gurus in the UK. He contributes to this group and may well contact you on
these items. The webbing in the photo is Landrover axle retaining strap
which Brian recommends and I bought off Ebay. I still have some left over
if you are stuck. Like you, all that was left on my car was a fragment of
webbing and two small plates on the chassis. Everything else had gone, so I
need to make up similar brackets. If anyone contacts you with a supplier,
please let me know, but I believe it has to be a DIY item.
Rev Counter - I am also attaching two photos, front & back. They are not
very good but should serve your purpose. If you want clearer shots (it's
dark & raining here!) just ask and I'll try and improve. All my instruments
were restored by Vintage Restorations in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. You may
just be able to read the label. Expensive, but perfect.
Brake MC - I answered another query on brakes recently. The Lockheed number
on the MC box that I bought in the 60's as a future replacement - now on -
is 8768, which fits Clausanger. But I have no way of knowing now if this is
absolutely correct for late TA. Walter has been kind enough to add my
article in this month's TTT on refurbishing the MC to the TABC website
Technology section.
Front wings, they all seem to be different. I'm having a pair made up now,
and supplied a tracing of the original tip/cut-out as a guide. Hope the guy
gets it right.
Mirror - Other have said this was not supplied as standard. I have found no
end of variations. Mine has a mirror glass held in place with four tabs
bent over from the metal frame.
Radiator - I had a new high efficiency core put into mine. Photos attached
before rebuild.
That's all I can help with for now, as I don't have a TC as well to compare
against...........
Best of luck,
