Hi y'all,
I guess most people are heading for MG Silverstone this weekend, but I chose to dismantle my MPJG - silly me!
First problem - The clutch/gearbox housing only withdraws about 3/4" then stops solid. It looks like I have to remove the clutch operating lever first. Blower says to withdraw the small tapered pin holding on this shaft, but it is in solid, and there is only 1/2" behind it to do anything with. Any ideas out in TA-land? Or do I just drill it out somehow and hope for a reasonable fit with a new pin later?
And while emailing, the lower end yoke collars (?) of this rod are worn pretty thin. Is there a replacement source, or should I just have the metal built up again (now I wish I had bid for one that was sold to some wise owl a couple of months ago on Ebay).
Best regards to all, and enjoy your weekend at Silverstone, if going.

Re: TA Clutch & gearbox removal
Hi again,
Seems I panicked unnecessarily. Lost patience with it and drilled out most
of the pin and punched the rest out. Engine & gearbox separated. Now to
lift the engine onto the workbench.........
Still, any better answers welcome.
Best regards,
Ian

Re: TA Clutch & gearbox removal
Hi Ian
I am not sure what to tell you, but I would not try and drill it out, it
is a tapered pin. My arm and the shaft on my TA were all messed up,
because someone tried to drill it out. Finding replacement is
impossible. Regards Dean
