Gene:
What kind of supercharger are you using?
I have had a Marshall-Nordec blower on my TD since I acquired it 15 years
ago.
When I purchased the car it had a heater installed as well.
When I decided to remove the heater I found that there was an issue with the
cooling bypass.
With the heater in place both the thermostat housing and the branch pipe (I
think) were installed BACKWARDS. That way the bypass outlet fed coolant
through a hose on the port side of the engine to the heater. Coolant
returning from the heater followed a hose on the starboard side of the
engine to the lower connecting pipe.
When I removed the heater we (Rob Medynski did this, I believe) just capped
off the bypass outlets at the thermostat housing and the lower connecting
pipe.
Without the bypass I imagine that the car would take longer to warm up if
used in winter, but it is not used in winter. For warm weather use it
functions just fine.
Any questions?
