Wire wheel spokes

Does anyone have any idea of what grade of steel are the spokes and nipples made of on the wire wheels, or do you know what the nipples should be torqued to. Dean [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I did a wire wheel rebuild two winters ago, and discovered that one of the old rims I dismantled had all brass nipples. I kept them as curiosity pieces. for the new spokes/nipples, I purchased a complete set 48 times 4, from Abingdon.
