Oil in TC Distributor

Post by Bert Dive » Tue Jun 21, 2005 11:53 pm

Drive shaft has reverse cut oil throw groove let into surface which fills with hard, polished carbon. Clean out this groove and all is back to normal unless crankcase pressure is too high. Regards, Bert Dive. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Been there, done that. Does not work. I have no crancase pressure, & no rear main leakage, (oem design) Len [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Hello, Cleaned out the groove in my TC XPAG distributor shaft in 1996 with immediate improvement which lasted until car was sold in 2000. If memory serves me I think that there is a distributor out there with reverse grooves on the shaft. This will make it a pump. Has this unit been changed out for a replacement one? Possible someone has used the wrong drive. Sandy Sanders

Cleaned out the groove on my distributor shaft completely and no oil in distributor for the last 12 months. Converted to the Hall effect ignition (solid state) at the same time and recommend highly. Dave TC 5228, TC 5041 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
