I asked the same question.....some one is nuts but if you've ever been to the B-J auction, most everyone there is nuts....its a circus atmosphere. A few years ago a 100 point VA Tickford only pulled $65K, so it all depends on who is bidding and what they are smoking!! i had better double the insurance on my perfect and reported to be as authentic as is possible TB-that is if relative value is to be used as a benchmark-I am neither an expert or fanatic but even i think this price sets a new standard for are you crazy-if only mg would become a suddenly desirably collectable marque i could become wealthy on what i have in my garage-what does this make a 52 TD dissassembled parts cleaned,chassis dipped and painted*(17 years ago) and all needed parts purchased worth- intertaining bids upwards of 45,000 dollars- lets all get on the band wagon bjlazyl

rotissorie restored refers to a very exacting precise (and excellent) method of mounting the car on a "spit" so that it can be examined meaqsures and worked on from all sides- that being said this car is out to lunch-over restored is a term often used among collectors-as a collector of over 30 cars esp british and 356 porsche who attends three or four important auctions a year i wish this car had been mine-but again restoration costs always exceed sales price- if this had been an authentic and correct pebble beach car the price might have been right but i doubt this was the case

I think that this is the car I saw at the New Hope (Pa.) auto show a few years ago. (won my class). It was being touted as a "factory" trials car. It was nice, but in my eyes over done but then I don't care for chrome wheels on TCs.
