to the list mediator: hate America politics versus car info

Post by 1939mgtb » Tue Jun 14, 2005 1:53 pm

I specifically object to "stealth" attacks on the US in the guise of car information. While all may have political opinions, I suggest they keep them to themselves. I find an American agreeing to that crap in front of an international audience to be pathetic and nauseating. Best, Ray [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Ray, I totally agree. This is no place for political agendas. I don't think we should be disrespectful to other people and countries on this list. Unfortunately, the written word is often misunderstood because the eye twinkle and wink aren't always obvious. Hi Ray, Oops, I'm sorry I upset you (and anyone else) so much. As Doug says, I thought it rather amusing that the author (who may well be American) should launch into such a tirade in the middle of an otherwise technical and potentially boring specification document. Maybe he wanted to liven it up a bit. I'll be more careful in future. Cheers, Peter Ross TC 8892 Bolton, Massachusetts

Im simply amazed that Americans feel so insecure about themselves that they'd be bothered to worry about it...... Gosh down here we've made an industry of laughing about ourselves. Goodness knows there is enough here to laugh about..... Fair enough. Best, Ray "Much can be achieved with a smile. However, much more can be achieved with a smile and a gun."

I thought it amusing too. I see no reason to apologise, some people are over-sensitive. Graham

Hi Murray, and list. I might as well jump into this also. I found the craziest sort of both American and English bashing item in this months issue of MPH magazine. It's on the last page. Everyone on the list should look for it. I thought it has so funny I soiled my pants. It's also MG T series related. It's on the newsstands and I'm serious, you'all should give it a looksee! Look for the MG TD advertisement. It starts off "Rusting Fast" Chip Hellie --- Murray Arundell arundell@ghs.com.au> wrote:

G'day up there Murray.. For what its worth I think right now might be a good time to remind some of our brethren suffering from a dermatological condition also known as 'thin skin' of the old truism noting the hallmark of a nation's maturity is its ability to laugh at itself. From the rantings of those up on their hind legs, I think there'e a fair bit of work needed over there. BTW... did you watch the footie in Sydney last night? Now THERE's something serious we might talk about! PS... (just for MG content)... how's the TC running these days? Didn't see you at Easter Reddo -----Original Message----- From: mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com [mailto:mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Murray Arundell Sent: Wednesday, 15 June 2005 3:46 PM To: 'Peter Ross'; 'mgtabc'; '1939mgtb' Subject: RE: [mg-tabc] to the list mediator: hate America politics versus car info Im simply amazed that Americans feel so insecure about themselves that they'd be bothered to worry about it......
