A question to the group TC ID plates I have an ID plate off TC 4686 XPAG 5309 ( the car went to its grave many years ago ) . The plate is brass and not silvered ,as are many others I have seen, The lettering is black,same as is the silver ones, I also have the ID plate off an MGY -Y /3222 which is silver . which is correct? Ross & Group, In my opinion the ID or makers plates were made out of brass with a very thin nickel plating & the lettering is black. In many cases the thin nickel plating is long gone, but it was there. This also applies to the patten plate, "Made in England" plate, & the body plate.
