Hey Paul: Who wrote:

ears, and don't we all listen for that miss, that burp that strange sound? I recently installed a navigation system. Was hard to find one that worked with a positive ground car, but the little compass needle does not seem to care. I am looking for a positive ground Radio/TV/DVD/CD changer. Next I might install an ex-tractor exhaust? Got a super charger too. I charges my cell phone with it, works super. Anybody have a wiring diagram for the On Octagon System? (If Cadillac can have on-star, can't we have on-octagon?) PTH"

But changing to negative earth defeats the whole purpose of life. Denying that there is an earth? I prefer a positive attitude toward an earth that does exist, not a negative earth policy. (Don't ask me about sex). PTH

>:o Hang on a mo Aubrey!
This must be a wind up? "....the 60's was trash", "There are few British artists of note during this period.", "Most British bands copied the American bands........." You never heard of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Hollies, Searchers, Kinks, Manfred Mann, The Animals, Tremelos, Cliff Richard and the Shadows, The Swinging Blue Jeans, .... how many more do you want to mention? Me thinks we better stick to T Types in future before I blow a gasket. :-P Peter Cole.

Don't forget the great Stan Kenton -----Original Message----- From: scooter19392003 [mailto:rockdctr@hotmail.com] Sent: Friday, March 04, 2005 9:38 PM To: mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com Subject: [mg-tabc] Re:MGTC era music Hey Jerry Give me a break the 60's was trash!! There are many great artists and bands from the 40's Including: The Andrew's sisters, Judy Garland, Jo Stafford, The Pied Pipers, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Dinah Shore, and Perry Como, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Duke Ellington, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, Charlie parker and Dizzie Gillespie to name just a few. The sixties is notable only for its mediocrity. There are few British artists of note during this period. Most British bands copied the American bands and apart from George Formby, Arthur Askey, Petula Clark and the ones already mentioned such as Vera Lynn and Gracie Fields there were few artists. Amazon has a huge collection of 40's music including the British artists so go there if you need CD's. Personally I think Glen Miller's music typifies the T-ABC's. His music was international and goes well with the TC exhaust note. Aubrey Paverd TC 9298

I guess one of the fascinating aspects of this site is the diversity. I have been following the issues raised over the last few years and have picked up some excellent practical advice. There is almost inevitably a huge amount of opinionated material that has entirely nothing to do with the subject area. I suspect that when any enthusiasts meet then we do touch on other matters -otherwise we would be so boring! I have laughed, sworn and despaired at some of the views expressed and picked up on the general good nature of most recipients. We have touched on issues outside our T Type bubble including politics and even religion, indeed probably the topics that many of would discuss down at the pub. Perhaps, we should also reflect that the site gives an opportunity for those who are on their own to communicate with others not only about their particular hobby but also about concerns that affect them. The fact that a chance mention of something non car related can result in contributions from across the world maybe endorses this view. So these seemingly abstract discussions do have some relevance. I would just endorse Peter Cole's comments and remind those of you in the States that little old GB and Europe.......................... Who knows that could be another strand! Remember there is a delete button. Sincerely Jerry Birkbeck [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Jerry, I like your thought that much of the spurious discussion on this List is of the sort that would develop in the Pub over a Pint. Accordingly, let's establish a "Pub" time. A time when we may lift our Pints and sound off. Given the world-wide locale of the denizens of the List, the "time" must be calculated to a common "moment" for each of us. Also, in the interests of economy of bandwidth, we need a Publican to decree a byte limit for any rant. Applying these simple rules, any time you want to unload your biases and predilections will be governed by: 1. A half-empty Pint in hand. 2. The appointed "moment" for your time zone. 3. The byte limit for your personal rant....and the over-all byte limit for that rant topic. If you doubt the efficacy of this, refer to rule #1. _Peter
