I have the opportunity to meet Peter de Bruyn later this month. If I
am nice, he might allow me to see MG-TC 252 (the first MG-TC) whose
60th anniversary appears to be Sept 12, 1945.
My question is: Do we know what happened to MG-TC 10251? (the last MG-
TC which appears to have come off the assembly line on Nov. 29, 1949).
My second question is: I noticed that the Victoria, Australia T-
Register's web page has the manufacture dates for individual MG-TCs
rather than just monthly ranges. Does anyone know what date in
February 1949 my MG-TC 7976 came off the assembly line?

Re: Where is MG-TC 10251?
hello Bruce - did I reply to you (nothing in my sent file)? Anyway, today
the new owner of TC10251 phoned me about spare parts: the previous owner
(since at least 1968) passed away and Myles Lindsay bought it as a total
basket case. Happily it is now rebuilt and on the road since last Autumn: I
asked him to send photos to John James for Totally T Type, so it would be
nice to have some shots of TC0251 as well for a feature celebrating 60 years
since production began. That was Sept. 17th. (not 12th.) when TC0211-0266
were produced, and I see we have 0254, 0257 & 0261 on the list, all in USA.
Earliest UK car is TC0269 of Steve Taylor from the second day of production,
although strangely this was not till 28th. Sept. so they were obviously
still getting sorted out.
On Saturday 17th. Sept. this year John James is organising a get-together in
Abingdon with runs around the factory test routes, and we hope to see more
cars than the few which have shown interest so far. I thought it would be
nice to have a "natter" in the evening for those of us who will have to stay
overnight, and maybe persuade one or two of the factory employees to come
along, the youngest of whom are nearly 80 now.
