Propshafts UJ rebuild

Post by jeffrey townsend » Sun Jan 13, 2019 12:36 pm

Hi All, I will be installing new front and rear UJ bearings, cups and spiders to the propshaft fo TA1957 soon. I ve not done this before. Could someone confirm if any joint compound should be used on the cups before they are driven into the yokes. I assume squeezing the cups in flush with a vice is best with final driving using a drift to permit circlips to be fitted. Is there a risk of over driving the bearing cups? Regards  Jeff Townsend. Jeff,   There is a good video on YouTube about replacing u-joints on a MGB but the process is the same for your TA. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCYy0DYn2tI Or you can check out John Twists 5 minute u-joint replacement at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDX17xf9grA   Dave TC 0524   From: mg-tabc-noreply@yahoogroups.com">jeffrey townsend jeff.townsend@hotmail.co.uk [mg-tabc] Sent: Sunday, January 13, 2019 3:34 PM To: mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com">mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com Subject: [mg-tabc] Propshafts UJ rebuild
