Easy rebuild.........

Post by franssitton » Sat Nov 25, 2017 3:51 am

A short question....... I want to install a rebuild kit for the oil pump of my MG TC 1947. Is it possible to remove  the pump without removing the left wing?

Hi, Yes you can get the pump off without removing the wing, but the first problem is getting the long M6 bolts out that fix the pump to the block. I had to undo the front engine mounts and jack up the engine so I could get them out. Then it's just possible. Top tip: When you put the pump back use cap head screws as the original bolts are easily over tightened and snap in the block. Don't ask me how I know! Regards Peter Cole.
