Dear All,
Thank you all who replied on this. I now know that at least I have the thing the right way up. I will get it crack tested and go on from there.
What started me on all this was the restricted range of movement that is available to the drop arm on my car. I suspect that the steering box bracket, adapted when the car was first converted from MPJG, my be positioning the steering box wrongly so that the drop arm hits the sump. In Duncan's photo it looks as if the drop arm should swing below the sump. Is that the case?
