Thom: There is an outfit called Sky Hook Engineering, back in New England that markets a complete kit using a Datsun B210 Tannny. They have kits for the TD,TC,TF, and Y type. Hi Thom I was at Silverstone yesterday and saw Andy Kings Site and he was offering a 5 speed conversion in his list for the TC no price jost POA and discuss!! A grand day out and the car did 150 miles and ran great! Paul TC3348

The datsun B210 5 speed conversion can be purchased from: Skyhook Engineering, Steve Neal 1024 Mere Point Road Brunswick, Maine 04011 207-729-4489 Steve had adaptations for installation into TC, Y (LHD or RHD), TD or TF (LHD or RHD). The advantage would be lower operating engine rpm's at highway speeds, resulting in longer engine life between rebuilds. The TC factory gearbox is a well designed unit, far superior than the factory gearbox supplied for the TD/TF. Parts generally are available for the TC gearbox. Bob Grunau can supply some synchro parts. I have seen the other gearbox already been answered, It is a Ford Sierra gearbox (Mercury Merkur XR4TI for those in the states), modified, and adapted for installation into a T car. Where I have no experience with one, I have installed a few Skyhook Engineering ones into a TD and a TF. The installation is completely reveresable. No frame cutting was required. Fellows I have a kit for using that Datsun gearbox in a Sprite, made by Rivergate. But that is neither here nor there, I suggest you find the gearbox first, I lucked out with one from a fellow on this list, and got one other for another project, but they were not easy to find.
