Hi Bob, Not sure on the length as the TA tickford firewall may have been different. Mine were 2.75" (70mm) with slotted round heads. I used stainless (painted0 Cheers, Lee Jacobsen TA2969 Tickford

Bob, Not 100% certain on TAs but on TCs the fasteners are 5/16 X 2 3/4". The 2 bolts that hold the steering col bracket are sometimes 3" long, sometimes 2 3/4", but on the TCs we've done, they have smaller OD washers - 5/8". On TAs I've seen the heads were blank, ie, no name, and probably black oxide. These two st col brkt bolts are often a different brand than all the other front firewall mounting bolts. Further, they were all hex head unless it's a Tickford which sometimes were slotted round head, somtimes hex head. BTW, on many TCs we've done, all these 18 bolts were cad plated, then sometimes painted. Hope this helps. tommm

Slight amendment - "on TCs the fasteners are 5/16 X 2 3/4". " should read:- on TCs the fasteners are 5/16" BSF X 2 3/4" I do believe the TA is the same. Regards Clive ========================================

Bob - assuming there is no difference to later cars, then the length is 2 3/4"", this allows for a large ("penny") washer against the wood on each side, plus a spring washer, probably 16 used. They were originally black ("mill finish") 5/16" BSF hex headed bolts. The washers on the engine side were painted black after assembly, maybe done by apprentices with small paint brushes! cheers Roger
