Early TC ad

Post by GetHawk@aol.com » Mon May 27, 2002 12:50 pm

Hello Listers, and especially to those who might have early TC advertisements: I'm looking for a color print ad from about the early Fifties (?) showing a red tc going around a left-handed mountain curve. (It might have been an MG ad, or possibly for another product.) The artwork was drawn from a 3/4 above angle and the car had a driver and girlfriend aboard. I had the print for years, (before I could afford a TC, ) then lost it and would like to obtain another. If you know of one I could purchase or make a color xerox of, please reply off list. Thanks. This sounds like the ad from an early AAA magazine. I have the picture on a T shirt that was sold by the Southern California AA regional offices a year or so ago. Don't think they would have any more though. THey apparently also did a reproduction of the original mag at the same time.

The picture Allan is speaking of was a cover on the AAA magazine originally published in May of 1952 and republished in November/December of 2000. It shows a red TC with windshield dropped just coming out of a curve on a back road two lane highway with a hill in the background. The artist is James Hansen and it's titled "Spring Motoring" Rick Storms TC 6776
