virus alert and engine problems
Dear list
Today I received information about an automatic "incoming mail scanner", wich seems very intresting, if all the information they give is correct. You can read it at www.vcatch.com .I am not so good in computer technology, so , if you want , check it out, and use it for what it's worth.
BTW, restoration of TA 761 is going on .Chassis is done, coachwork adaptions will be ready after a few weeks more. The thing I cannot wait for is to hear the engine running. As the cylinder head is off( I bought the car that way), I was promised a little help to build up the engine by a local mechanic, but he doesn't seem to have the time, so I'll do it myself.
The former owner of the car told me that when he had the engine running, after half an hour, he got water in the exhaust tube. For that reason, he took the cylinder head off, found nothing, and putted the car away for eight years, till the time I bought it. By checking the block carefully now, I notice a very little crack at one of the front cylinder studs, wich doesn't seem to be completely trough to the water channel. The person (of a local motor revision workshop) who did the rectification of the cylinder head, gave me the advice to mount the head on, and if it doesn't work out fine, to see what is wrong, and make the bloc ( or any other problem) fixed. He thinks, that as the cylinder heads of this engines (MPJG) are just very low tightened (max 5 kilogram ), the crack will not enlarge and do no harm.
Before doing all the work , I want to ask to more experienced people of the list , if they can give me any advise.I know also that my information is very poor, but it is the only information I can give so far.
Thanks already
Harry
