The floor part of the seat runner on TA0844 (one only) was screwed to the floor, i.e. no hinges. Was this standard or has a PO removed the hinges? There is no trace....Bob.

Bob, When I restored TA2816 it had just one driverside runner and there was a hinge at the front, but I'm not sure thr hinge was original as the weld wsa real bad. Rich Carroll TA2816.

Bob PO has removed the hinges. Original had 2 hinges each side but their only use seems to be to allow squab to hinge up to access the screws on the underside for fitting/removal after the seat back has been removed. Repro seat runner kits are available - at a cost. I never got round to buying them myself so my seats are still screwed to the floor. Since everyone who rides in the car needs the maximum adjustment I have no need for the slides. Speaking of seat runners I have a set of TC runners that mount to the seat bottom and has the chrome filpper I believe it is the drivers side , any interest contact me off list. Maybe I've missed something here, but the hinges seem quite important to me. They allow you to remove the seat by tilting up and sliding back. Agreed. Hinges are necessary if you want to remove the seat bases without undoing screws. In the 10 years since I fitted mine, I've never needed to remove the seat bases so I have no regrets at not fitting them. That said I admit, with my seats screwed to the floor, I've never cleaned under the seats either, so maybe, if I'm lucky, I'll find enough small change amongst the other rubish to pay for a seat runner set. Friends, Can anyone tell me the location of the seat runners on the floorboards, and the location of the adjusting handles of the runners, are they inboard or out boards (close or away from the doors). Thanks Benny
