Hi All,
Here,s what might be a new query or maybe an old chesnut? Recently there was in the Octagon magazine some correspondance regarding the merits of blanking off the oil holes in the rocker arms thus divirting all the oil flow through shaft and bearings. Those that tried it say it has caused no problems at all and has even made the top end quieter. I wondered if any of our listers has tried this as it sounds a reasonable mod. to me as I am about to swap my head for an unleaded one. (cylinder not cranium!

Sounds reasonable. You would get a better hydrostatic wave in the bearing
area, and from the oil blowing around the rocker box, still get tip
lubrication.
I think I would make it reversible, though.....just in case!
BTW, were you getting that much seat erosion with the normal valve seats? I
have been running a 1275 Spridget engine in my wife's Morris Minor with a
stock head about 8-10000 miles a year with no measurable problems so far.
Have any of you had bad experiences with the stock heads?
Best,
Ray

The ideal is to fill the hole and then drill a much smaller hole which
maintains oil pressure in the engine, and still lets oil to the valve head
