Hi Dave, I think it means 'Non Operational Scrap' . Actually, it probably means 'New Old Stock'. Parts that were made back when the car was new but stayed on the shelf for 50-60 years. The most NOS MG parts I have ever seen was from a gent down the street that bought a new 51 TD, and proceeded to also order every spare in the parts catalog. Thousands of Lucas boxes, new driveshaft, trans , engine, fenders, everything but the body tub. It was sold, along with all the parts, about 15 years ago for $15,000 to a friend of mine. The parts were used to restore the car, and it was then sold to the wife of the editor of Crains Automotive News for a hefty amount as a surprise birthday present. Lucky guy! I recommend the 7-odd page preface as 'Required Reading' to anyone interested in driving something other than the plastic boxes 'They" would have us believe is 'In Our Best Interests" as transport.
